Event re-cap2013 started off with a fashionable and glamorous networking event "Spanish Summer Garden Party", surrounded by opulence at the stunning Flower Temple QV. Guests were tantalized by a parade of colourful, stylish comfortable footwear by Kolourful Kati and beautifully crafted European fashion designs provided by almarker, also fabulous Flamenco entertainment. Delegates from La Camara, Spanish Chamber of Commerce and The Mexican Chamber of Commerce attended amongst so many amazing business women. Spain has been one of the domineering cultural centres of Europe and this event created an influential blend of Spanish, Mexican and latino cultures. Guest presenter Fabiola Dos Santos, Senior Trade Marks Attorney at FAL Lawyers inspired us to grow personally and professionally with her take on attitude and self-esteem, as well as being surrounded by loving and caring people in our lives! Fabiola believes that attitude has played a huge part in her life - this being her motto: 'Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude'.

Event re-cap Celebrating French life in Melbourne A French Affair was a chic tribute to the wonderful influences of French culture: fashion, art, food and wine, being the epitome of style and glamour. Exquisite French jewels from Cartier, Piaget and Cartier on display from Anton Jewellery, Castille de Fleur exclusive products, Shocolate delicious chocolates, debut fashion label Aaizel "Nouvelle depart" launch and stunning artwork provided by renowned French fashion illustrator Michel Canetti. Guest speaker Beatrice Imbert provided us with some insights into her latest book "The Secret Diaries of Inspirational Women'' (www.beatriceimbert.com) and Michel Bula from MBS Solicitors and founder of Melbourne French Theatre provided us with an insightful topic "Making Your Dreams Come True – purchasing property and relocating to France". (www.mbsols.com.au) Michael certainly knows the loop holes around international law and his extensive knowledge proved to be of great interest. Who doesn't want a chateau in France?

Event re-cap June – the Month of the Pearl heralded an exclusive Pearl Discovery Event featuring the world renowned stunning jewels of Paspaley at their bespoke Collins Street boutique, in support of vivaRCH charity. EWIB guests were treated to learning the 5 virtues of hands on pearl grading, a highly skilled practice to becoming a true pearl connoisseur! Hosted by the accomplished presenter Marilynne Paspaley gave us a first-hand account of the Paspaley brand, family history and expertise in what she termed "It took 30 years to be an overnight success". Emanating from a Greek / Australian business Paspaley has almost singlehandedly pioneered the Australian South Sea Pearl industry. The pearl is the only gem originating from a creature, all other gems form out of decay, which is one of the reasons why pearls are known for their unrivalled beauty and unique formations. Marilynne was extremely engaging, witty and held the audience in the palm of her hand, a very difficult key note speaker to top! As co-sponsor Bayview Travel provided us with an informative presentation of the exclusive Virtuoso travel destinations, linked to Paspaley's own Pinctada Resort. This event provided guests with top quality Veuve Clicquot champagne, delectable canapés and surrounded by opulent jewels – it doesn't get much for better as far as networking events go, particularly for us ladies!

Event re-cap Located at the stunning private members club, Candela Nuevo Jingle Mingle Event featured Margaret Porritt as guest speaker and gorgeous Feathers summer fashion parade. Guests enjoyed perfect summer weather for a luxe rooftop BBQ and panoramic views. Margaret's key address focused on getting through the tough times by "Constantly re-inventing yourself, nobody saw the internet coming in retail, she went on to say and you had to evolve or fold". Great customer service and being in tune with your customer has been Feathers mainstay. Margaret is still found on the floor regularly serving customers. Refreshing to know that a reputable and award winning business woman still has as much energy, drive and passion as when she first started in 1971. She is also as sharp as a tack and a pleasure to work with. Thank you to Margaret and the team at Feathers for ending our events year on a great festive note!

2012 Event re-cap

European Women in Business 2012 started off with the VZug cooking masterclass, showcasing their state of the art Swiss cooking appliances, topped off with a delicious three course meal and wines. Natropath Irene van Wijk also enlightened us with a presentation on processed foods, dairy products and the importance of fresh food.

A French Affair was a highlight for many featuring beautiful French artwork from Michel Canetti, exquisite jewellery including Lanvin, Creed fragrance and treasured French products from the exclusive store Christine Accessories and delicous chocolates from Shocolate. Jonathan Maxwell, General Manager from French wine conglomerate Ballande Groupe presented on “Differentiating Your Product in a Competitive Market” which was an interesting insight into marketing. www.michelcanetti.com

Chocolate Heaven provided us a behind the scenes look at the chocolate making process from master chocolatiers Shocolate. Delicious chocolates, champagne and presentation from the remarkable Nesan Naidoo founder of Mind Modelling, who inspired us to greater heights in our career and personal development. Grace Kelly Journey took us on a group visit to Bendigo to view the spectacular Grace Kelly Style Icon exhibition. Showcasing her style and influence from glamorous Hollywood actress to fairy-tale Princess, a delightful day had by all.

Christmas in July featured a winter wonderland of European and Australian cheeses, also wines from Ballande Groupe, Vino Bambino and Hide & Seek to warm our tastebuds. Stunning jewels and dazzling couture set the tone for Diamonds Pearls & Opals. The National Opal Collection, Kailis Pearls and Rutherford diamonds got our hearts racing with spectular jewels and exclusive designer Mathieu Salem made our hearts skip a beat with his gorgeous designs. Hosted by the delightful MC and milliner Kerrie Stanley. Guests were treated to sipping cocktail martinis from Aperol and Prince bubbly, floral displays from Flower Temple, delicious chocolate displays from Sisko and desserts to die for from Pierrick Boyer. Special guest presenter Michelle Winzer, Regional General Manager with CBA highlighted the "Development of Business Management Skills for Women" and with over 25 years experience in banking and finance Michelle was very well received.

Our final event for the year Jingle Mingle was a triple bill of 3 amazing presenters and inspirational leaders.
